Twitter Keyword Targeting in Timelines: The Good and the Bad Sides

Compared to Google AdWords, Twitter Keyword Targeting in Timelines is less popular, thus not too many business owners (especially SMBs) are well acquainted on how it works and how they can benefit from it. It is also interesting to take note that this advertising platform is specifically designed for small to medium businesses. If you haven’t tried it yet, then keep on reading.

What is Twitter Keyword Targeting in Timelines?

This is Twitter’s advertising platform that can be compared to Google’s AdWords. Although the latter targets search engine users and the former targets its microblogging users, both platforms are into target marketing that uses each of their algorithms to filter audiences based on what their clients specify.
According to Twitter, keyword targeting in timeline enables a business to reach the right people, at the right time, and in the right context. This helps small business owners reach their target audience inside the microblogging network based on keywords in their recent tweets and in the posts (tweets) they have recently or currently engaged with.

The Good Side

The number of active Twitter users has been increasing through the years. It has increased by more than 50 million in the past year and is expected to increase as mobile usage keeps on rising. Also, it is predicted (http://tinyurl.com/pdx6wh4) that on this year, 1/5 or 20.5% of internet users in the country are expected to get their own Twitter accounts. These figures are always good news and can open up opportunities for small and medium businesses.
Twitter Keyword Targeting in Timelines is mainly beneficial if your target audience mostly hang out in the microblogging site. This is because its main purpose is to drive Twitter users off to your landing page. This increases your leads and boost the chances of getting successful conversions.
Similar to Google AdWords, Twitter’s advertising platform uses keywords to target specific prospects based from their interest, geographic location, and other relevant factors. According to some experts, it is typically a less expensive alternative to Google AdWords. But then, this is debatable since cost varies depending on the competitiveness of the keywords use in a campaign.
Twitter (http://tinyurl.com/py69dzp) shares the top 4 benefits in using keyword targeting in timelines:
  • Increases relevance of your brand messages to your target audience,
  • Facilitates real-time marketing at scale,
  • Drives physical world actions, and
  • Serves a good complement to your search marketing campaign.
Despite all these benefits and advantages, Twitter Keyword Targeting also has its downside. Before deciding if you want to use it in your next social media campaign, find out first a few of its disadvantages.

The Bad Side

One of the most significant difference between Google AdWords and Twitter Keyword Targeting is their User Interface (UI). Those who are already used to the former’s user interface will have a bit of a hard time grasping the latter’s. Here’s what the experts from HubSpot (http://tinyurl.com/74bdkzh) said about this.
“If you’re used to using Adwords, beware! The tracking and reporting within the Twitter ads interface are not nearly as robust. The simple joys of Adwords like pulling a spend-by-day report or geo report are nowhere to be found within Twitter’s UI. If you are a data-hound and need all of the data points that Adwords features, you’ll be at a loss with Twitter ads. The best thing to do if you’re running Twitter ads on your own is to keep track of key metrics on a daily basis such as spend, followers, clicks, leads, cost per engagement, and or cost per lead.”
Another downside, according to Zeendo (http://tinyurl.com/qjyu5mq), is the vague costing rate.

“Even though it is in their webpage, Twitter doesn’t explain clearly which is going to be the price for every action, it is known that it is based on a bit system but nothing else. It is not easy to understand.”
Twitter advertising is also less flexible when it comes to setting and scheduling campaigns compared to Google AdWords. Here’s what HubSpot said about this.
“In addition to Twitter’s less-than-advanced UI impacting tracking and reporting, it puts SMB marketers at a disadvantage with their ad campaigns, too. For instance, ad campaigns can’t be set up to run on certain days or during certain hours of individual days with any relative ease. Bid increases during peak hours need to be adjusted manually. Things like this that have become the standard in Adwords are scarce to be found within Twitter.”
Lastly, the lack of customer support and limited availability of the service make it only second to Google’s advertising platform.

Conclusion

Twitter Keyword Targeting in Timelines is a good alternative that can help boost your social media campaign. Although it has the potential to bring desirable results, it also has some disadvantages. To recap, here are what you can expect from the famous microblogging site’s advertising platform, both the good and the bad:

PROS

  • Targets highly relevant users,
  • Helps increase leads,
  • Less expensive,
  • Helps in boosting your brand,
  • Real-time marketing,
  • Drives physical action, and
  • Complements your search marketing efforts.

CONS

  • User interface is not advanced,
  • Tracking and reporting features are not comprehensive,
  • Vague costing rate,
  • Less flexibility in setting up campaigns,
  • Lacks customer support, and
  • Limited availability of service.

Dallas Driving School Drivers Education of America Uses Twitter Marketing Tool to Find Customers Online

“Hype Free Marketing” creator Qamar Zaman releases a new interview with Dallas based business leader Chad Henry, discussing a popular Twitter marketing tool.
Dallas, Texas – A Dallas Texas-based drivers’ education company is crediting its success in finding new customers with use of a popular Twitter Marketing tool that assists users in searching for high potential prospects within their target area in real time. Drivers Education of America, an online drivers’ education provider, was recently interviewed by “Hype Free Marketing” brand creator Qamar Zaman about how the use of SocialCentiv has helped increase his company’s success.
“SocialCentiv opened my eyes about how we can truly connect to a potential customer,” says Chad Henry, President of Drivers Education of America, who talked about his surprise after taking a chance on the Social Centiv Twitter Marketing tool, which has reportedly helped hundreds of entrepreneurs grow their business since being introduced onto the market.
According to the Dallas businessman, his company had been searching for “the ultimate online marketing tool for simplifying the process of finding highly targeted customers in Twitter,” deeming the task of scanning millions of tweets to find prospects too tedious and unachievable prior to incorporating Social Centiv in their Twitter Marketing campaign.
“Wasting tons of time searching for potential customers on Twitter is the biggest problem in engaging your business in there.” Chad said in his testimonial interview. “Social Centiv helps us find customers within 15 minutes,” he added.
Chad also shared that the key reason his company was able to successfully acquire new customers using SocialCentiv is because it enabled them to effectively target highly relevant and geographically appropriate prospects, “the ones who really needed our service.”
“After using SocialCentiv, we managed to add 40 people a month to our service.” Chad shared in his success story, adding “In all businesses the secret to success is finding the right customer.”

How SocialCentiv Works?

Social Centiv has been described as a Twitter Marketing tool that helps business owners listen to and understand the needs of their target audience on the social network without requiring them to waste valuable time. It is designed to allow users to offer incentives in the form of promotions or discounts each time they find a highly potential prospect on Twitter in an effort to convert them into paying customers.
On the company’s website, SocialCentiv explains in detail how their twitter marketing tool works, stating “Your customers are on Twitter. We make reaching out to them easy, saving you time and helping you promote, educate, and gain awareness.”
The company further emphasizes that simplicity of use and effectiveness are the main advantages of their tool explaining, “The easy-to-use tool identifies consumers who Tweet their intent towards a product, service, or content related to your business. You can then present potential customers with a targeted, personalized incentive designed to influence their purchase decision.”

The Social Selling Trend

As explained by Zaman, what Chad does using the SocialCentiv tool can be categorized as Social Selling. According to statistics (http://tinyurl.com/qbfdkrh), 72.6% of salespeople who use social selling as part of their sales process outperform their peers and exceed quota 23% more often.
Social Selling has become a social media marketing strategy widely embraced by marketers and business owners alike. Zaman notes that this is “because most potential customers or buyers prefer to buy a product or subscribe to a service from someone they know.” This notion is supported by statistics such as those presented in a survey (http://tinyurl.com/qbfdkrh) that shows 92% of buyers say they delete emails or voicemail messages when they are from someone that they don’t know.
According to Chad, “the need to educate your target customers about what your business can bring to the table can be complemented by the help of social selling tools such as SocialCentiv.”

Why Lawyers Should Get Feedback to Help SEO

The legal world has now becoming more widely competitive given the growing number of lawyers there are in a year. Now, a lot of law firms are making their own strategies to keep up with this highly competitive environment. With the increased number of lawyer rivals, many have embraced the challenges in the lawyer marketplace.

Lawyers seek out several of sources where they can get a good marketing strategy for their legal services and law firm. Although they already have an active lawyer blog, social media accounts all set up, what can really help any lawyers to top among the rest of the others, is having a client feedback. This can either be in series forms like testimonials found on their legal site, online reviews on different review sites, and the never obsolete form which is by word of mouth and etc. So in order for you to be able to know how and why you should ask and seek out your client feedback, I will be discussing some tips which you can use.

The only best way you can ask your clients for their feedback is by simply asking and telling them that you need it. Explain to them that their feedback would mean a lot to you and your law firm. Their feedback can help you improve on how you deal with your clients and how you can avoid certain events in case you receive a bad feedback. It will really help you grow and mature in your profession as these comments will all do the wonders.

You can ask them in a right time like through email or if you have an ongoing conversation with your client. Although best feedback are given when you are able to talk to your client personally, as it allows a personal connection to occur between two parties involved; rather than by having a conversation through online.

If ever you receive a feedback you don’t like, accept it and consider their opinion since it can help you grow professionally and it can help you avoid the same complaints in the future since you are already aware of your liability. Learn to accept constructive criticism.

Clients generally want a lawyer and a law firm that they see as credible and trustworthy. After all, it is not easy confiding a legal problem if you don’t trust the person whom you are talking to. So having testimonials in your lawyer site or posting reviews on sites like Yelp and other review sites, will really help you build a credible and trustworthy reputation. Later on, this can help you generate more clients too.

Aside from the reasons already mentioned above, client feedback can also help lawyers boost their lawyer site. Whenever a client leaves feedback to your site, this will be considered by Google as a new update and sometimes their feedback can contain long-tail keywords that Google considers accordingly.

Online review sites can also help you enhance your lawyer site ranking. This includes Yelp, AVVO, Google my business, etc. It can also help you generate more leads.

Clients feedback are important, may it be negative or positive. It just depends on how you respond to these different feedback and how you use them. If you receive a negative feedback, you should respond to their complaint and address to their concerns, as this can help you build your reputation. Being responsive and attentive can make show viewers that you really care for you clients since you are addressing their needs.

Twitter Marketing Strategies

Digital Marketing / SEO Expert Qamar Zaman Talks About Best Twitter Marketing Strategies for Small Business

There’s no limit on what you can learn online more especially if you are good in searching the web. In some cases, it is better to DIY (Do It Yourself) than to wait for an expert to tell you what you need to do. This applies as well if you run out of better ideas on how to improve your Twitter Marketing strategy.

If you are currently looking for new ways or tactics to oomph the strategies you use in your Twitter marketing campaign, you should look for ones which the pros are not telling you. The reason behind in not revealing these tactics is quite obvious – the pros want to always stay on top of the game. Isn’t that what everyone wants to happen? To always have an edge?

Of course, we think differently, thus we are sharing in this blog post some Twitter marketing tactics that you might find useful as they are the usual ones that are seldom mentioned in tips and guides you commonly read in your favorite social media blogs or websites.

8 Twitter Marketing Tactics Experts Won’t Share With You

When 74% of people who follow small and medium businesses on Twitter mainly aims to get product updates, it would be foolish not to exert more effort to reach out to them using better tactics and strategies.

Here, we share to you tactics that some experts are not telling you but the ones you needed the most if you are already running out of ideas to improve your Twitter Marketing strategy.

1. Follow Twitter accounts which interests are highly relevant to yours.

This only applies if you are still new in Twitter or if your follower count is still nominal. If you are a mobile developer company, then it is recommended that you follow Twitter accounts that are into mobile. For example, Android and iPhone fans are more likely to follow you back than those ones who prefer to use their iMac and PC. If you are targeting local audience, make sure that you are following those ones who specified their area or location.

This is actually a tried and proven strategy that also works well if you want to continue growing your Twitter followers composed of genuine people who care about your product or service.

2. Retweet and favorite posts from popular accounts that featured your content.

The best way to thank a follower or a Twitter account for posting your content on their stream is to retweet and favorite it. You can also insert a quick thank you note in your post. This may sound really small but this would go far into building a good relationship with people who are interested to connect and follow your brand.

Make the most of your Twitter account by conversing and engaging with influential people most especially those who show interest to your brand. They are leads that are easy to convert and that’s something you should not take for granted.

3. Use Twitter cards to easily capture leads.

Most of you haven’t heard of this yet but this one is quite helpful more especially if your target audience are visually-oriented. You can use a Twitter card in your tweet if you want to capture the email address of those people who click it. You then have to compile this list and use them in distributing newsletters and other important announcements about your brand.

Learn how to create your very own Twitter card by following these five simple steps.

4. Tweet highly relevant posts from popular blogs/websites and tag their authors.

If you run out of content to share, you can check for posts relevant to your brand and share them to your followers. You should not forget to mention the author who wrote or created it. This way you can connect with him/her and establish a new relationship.

Initiating engagement to your fellow industry players can help a lot in building your reputation and credibility online.

5. Publish your Instagram photos in Twitter via IFTTT.

According to various studies (http://tinyurl.com/n3zmmxa), tweets with image have five times engagement rate than those ones that don’t. Instagram photos which are directly published in Twitter don’t show up as photos on your streams and can only be seen as links by your followers.

Using IFTTT can help you publish your Instagram photos as tweet photos instead of just mere links. This would help you attract more people to check them out and increase engagement in the long run. To do this you just need to create a recipe in IFTTT and every time you publish a photo in IG, it will automatically republish on your Twitter.

6. Schedule your tweets and publish them during peak hours.

Manage your Twitter marketing smartly by scheduling what you need to post daily or weekly using a scheduling tool. So far, Buffer is a very efficient tool that can help you schedule your tweets without any hassles. Also, find out the best time wherein your followers are more receptive to your tweets and schedule your posts to get published around those hours.

Note that Buffer is free to use but it would only limit you to schedule 10 posts. If you want to schedule unlimited tweets, you can upgrade to a paid version.

7. Create Twitter lists and customize your conversation and engagement with each one.

From your email list, you can create a Twitter list wherein you can converse with your prospects more personally. By creating a list inside Twitter, you can easily know what they are posting and reply to them whenever a post relevant to your brand comes up.

Creating lists that grouped your followers into current customers, influencers, prospects, and the like would help you understand more their needs and respond to them in timely manner because you can easily see what they are publishing on their timelines.

8. Use a tool to discover what your target audience need in real-time.

If you are a company that develops apps for smartphones and you target a specific area (for example New York) to market your mobile apps, then you need a Twitter tool that can help you find your prospects in real-time whose tweets are highly relevant to your brand.

For example, if you want to market your recently released mobile app designed for people who want to keep track of their weight loss, then using a tool like SocialCentiv, can help you easily find fitness conscious people in New York who are tweeting posts wherein you can reply and suggest to them how your product can answer their needs or solve their problems.

Conclusion

Some of the tips you read online are not always the ones that can help you the most. There are actually some tactics that you need to discover on your own before you can benefit from them. In most cases, these tips are the ones some experts are not willing to share with anyone especially on the internet. But, of course, we are not your typical social media experts, thus we’ve just shared to you the eight tactics that can help you boost your Twitter marketing campaign.

  1. Increase your follower count by following those who have similar interests.

  2. Show gratefulness to those who shared your content through retweeting.

  3. Capture more leads by using Twitter cards.

  4. Share relevant posts and mention their authors to build relationships.

  5. Let your followers see your Instagram photos by publishing them via IFTTT.

  6. Use Buffer to easily schedule your tweets and publish them during “peak hours”.

  7. Create and leverage your Twitter lists.

  8. Use SocialCentiv to easily find prospects and convert them to become paying customers.

Of course, these tips don’t directly guarantee that you’ll accomplish your goal. Always make sure to customize them according to the needs of your business. Good luck!

Qamar Zaman SEO Predictions for Law Firms

Curated from Bruce Clay and Rand Fishkin

Qamar Zaman a Dallas SEO Explains and discusses predictions about Search Engine Optimization for this year 2015 that will change how lawyer sites are ranked.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) constantly has changes and updates due to its adaptation with the different search engine site’s algorithm especially in Google. That is why a lot of businessmen including lawyers strive to be updated on the latest trends and effective techniques of SEO so as to be able to compete and be ahead of their other business and lawyer competitors. This year, 2015, SEO continually evolves and modifies its factors governing internet marketing in general.

A lot of predictions of these SEO changes for the year 2015 have been discussed by a lot of Search Engine Optimization Professionals and Engineers. Some may have varied and different ideas of this SEO evolution. It is important that lawyers have an idea regarding this matter so that they can be able to effectively think of SEO strategies and techniques on how they can effectively market their own law firm. So I decided to make my own predictions regarding this matter.

For this year, the user satisfaction brought about by mobile results will greatly exceed those other technical factors surrounding SEO. Google now issues warnings to all the webmasters who owns a website that has mobile errors. It is said that another algorithm will be launched that will focus on mobile ranking. Lawyers are advised to give emphasis in providing a good user experience not just in websites but also in mobile version accessibility since 99% of the population now has each of their own mobile gadgets they can use anytime and anywhere, and majority of people now search for lawyers and legal services through their mobiles and gadgets rather than surfing through the web using computers or even searching for it on newspapers and magazines.

Google will now show results on its first page, those sites which have the answers that are more specific and more focused to the user’s questions. Also, the results will include lawyer sites which cover more in depth, more complete and detailed topics that are more in demand by searchers. So if you own a lawyer site, you need to write unique and worth reading blogs that have a comprehensive and thorough content which includes answers to common questions mostly asked by a lot of searchers who are looking for a lawyer and those who are in need of legal services.

Search engine sites especially Google will still continue to focus on local results for all searches made as well as getting rid of spam sites. Lawyer sites which do not follow the guidelines will still be penalized and would suffer same consequences. So it is also very important that lawyers update their knowledge regarding the guidelines of search engine sites like Bing and Google so that they will have an idea on the things that they might be penalized for especially if these sites have added another rule in their guidelines.

Another prediction about SEO changes is the additional factor that will control and govern lawyer site’s ranking which is having an on-page video. Videos can deliver many words to your potential clients compared to having your message written in your blog. Your viewers won’t necessarily need to do a lot of scrolling to be able to read your message and having these videos will promote less clutter on your lawyer site as well. With the growing mobile bandwidth, users will now be able to easily access and view these videos. That is why Google is now considering on-page video is one factor of ranking a lawyer site.

These are just some of the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) predictions that will change how lawyer sites will be ranked in search engine sites especially Google.
